The focus on whisper-quiet Roller shutters is growing among home builders, architects and handymen. Elero, a German manufacturer of tube motors and controls for roller shutters and blinds, has responded by developing the new product series RolMotion in the Silent Motion series. Using proven roller shutter drives, the running characteristics have been further optimized, so that RolMotion drives now operate even more quietly. Particularly suitable for use in single-family homes and larger residential complexes, they convince with their extremely quiet operation.

Two variants are available in the new product series: the standard mode in which roller shutters are moved at the usual speed, and the whisper mode, designed for times when particularly quiet operation is required. The whisper mode is activated automatically on automated commands and can also be enabled manually, depending on the technology used. This can be done by holding down the UP or DOWN button on the Handheld transmitter longer or by double-clicking on a standard wall-mounted transmitter. "Many users want to avoid waking up other family members early in the morning and therefore desire Roller shutters that can be opened and closed extremely quietly," clarifies Dr. Matthias Henschel, head of development at Elero.

"We are currently the first manufacturer worldwide to offer this quiet technology both wired and wireless," emphasizes Enzo Viola, managing director of Elero. "With this we are setting a new standard for Roller shutter automation." Soon, the wireless variant will be able to be integrated into the flexible building automation system Centero Home, providing even greater convenience and comfort in everyday home life. This is further supported by the standard mode, which is always used when speed is crucial, such as when opening a patio door or an individual window to ventilate a room early in the morning. "Thanks to the reduced torque in the upper and lower positions, and the quiet electromagnetic brake, the standard mode is already very quiet," Viola explains.

The new product series uses proven elero drive technology, with the main focus of development work on further improving drive activation. As with the reliable RolTop series, the Silent Motion drives are equipped with features such as obstacle and block detection, as well as Soft Start and Soft Stop. This ensures reliable operation, long life and at the same time protection of the Roller shutters. Installation and adjustment of the RolMotion drives are, as always, simple and quick. It is even easier with the Plug + Play models of the drive series.

With optimized running behavior and thanks to a quiet electromagnetic brake, Roller shutters also move quietly in standard operating mode.

The whisper mode is activated in the wireless version by holding down the UP or DOWN button longer.
