Why our webshop from http to https

For an online store, an SSL certificate is a must for the following reasons:

- To protect our customer data, our website is secured with an SSL certificate. Data that our customers enter are sent encrypted by this security, so that malicious parties cannot intercept the data. This prevents our customers from being duped.

- As a merchant we are legally obliged to secure customer data under the Data Protection Act. This law states that every webshop owner must take 'appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect customer data'. Most online store labels recognize the law as a starting point and mandate the use of SSL for their members.

- The use of SSL increases customer confidence.

When an SSL certificate is active on the website, the visitor sees:

- On the left side in the address bar, a lock icon

- The url starts with https instead of http, where the s stands for secure. What visitors see on the Web site depends on the certificate you purchase. There are SSL certificates at three different levels of validation.

- The most comprehensive certificate, with extended validation, shows the company name directly in a green address bar. Here domain name, company information and the organization's specified contact person are checked.
