Brel has been active in the drives and controls market since 2003. Since 2011, it has been very active with innovative products and solutions for (internal) sun protection and roller shutters. These were also shown at Polyclose.

Brel's motors communicate wirelessly with control systems such as SmartWares, HomeWizard, Homey and ^{KlikAanKlikUit®}. These in turn communicate wirelessly with the cloud, with Amazon's Alexa and with Google Home. So Brel speaks to the world! In practice, this means that end users can very easily remotely access their Brel-motorised blinds, window decoration and so on. This is in contrast to many other providers, who have their own closed systems.
