The Sommer Pearl Twin has a region code and only works with devices that also have the same region code. The transmitters we supply have the region code 4018-V000, see the back of your current Handheld transmitter. If your current Sommer transmitter also has this region code, it is compatible with your installation.

Switching between SOMloq and SOMloq2 coding
Basically, this transmitter is ready to pair with a 128Bit receiver (SOMloq2) and the LED will be orange/amber. By holding the pushbutton longer, the LED will turn red and the corresponding transmitter channel will switch to 64Bit (SOMloq1).
If the transmitter is first taught on an old Sommer receiver (Somloq1 = press for ± 2 seconds until LED turns red) and you then teach it, on a new Somloq2 receiver, the transmitter will no longer work on the Somloq1 receiver because the transmitter knows via feedback that it is in mode Somloq2. If you then press for 2 to 3 seconds, the Transmitter will not go to Somloq1, but will go into repeater mode and will transmit 5 times for ±15 seconds.
If you teach it first, to a Somloq2 then you have to press 5 times on the Transmitter before you can put it back into Somloq1 mode and teach it to a Somloq1 receiver. You then also need to be out of range of the previously taught Somloq2 receiver, otherwise the Transmitter will then be constantly reminded, via bi-directional communication, that it is in Somloq2.
