Parallel connection of two or more tube motors is not allowed, because the motors will never have exactly the same running time due to, for example, different motor types or a difference in height of the roller shutter. The motor that reaches its limit switch first is energised by the still-running motor with an inductive and capacitive voltage on the counter winding. This voltage, which can be up to 1000 volts, sets the initially switched-off motor in motion in the opposite direction, until the motor receives the supply voltage again via the microswitch that has now been closed and the motor starts running in its original direction again. This so-called pendulum motion continues until the limit switches are damaged under the enormous load.
