Instructions for replacing a Hörmann timing belt
To replace a timing belt or guide carriage, you can basically follow Hörmann's instructions. After dismantling the drive head and removing the guide rail, the maximum preload of the built-in spring is secured by fitting the lintel joint supplied. The Hörmann bolts A8 x 19.5 x 16 with SL lock shown in Figure 1B.1 under E are not included in the delivery. However, you can use the bolts securing the door operator to the driver bracket and the guide carriage.
Maintenance-free timing belt
Hörmann timing belts are completely maintenance-free and self-tensioning. They consist to some extent of aramid fibres and are reinforced with Kevlar. The fibres are characterised by very high strength, high impact resistance, high elongation at break, good vibration damping and resistance to acids and alkalis. They are also very heat- and fire-resistant. Aramid fibres do not melt at high temperatures, but start to char from about 400°C. Compared to chain or spindle drives, timing belts do not need to be re-lubricated or re-oiled. Thanks to high-quality materials, the technology ensures that the door runs continuously and smoothly with minimum effort for the user. Automatic belt tensioning facilitates door running and no additional maintenance is required.
This timing belt is basically suitable for all operators on which the guide rail FS 10 or FS 2 is mounted. It is therefore compatible with the SupraMatic E- or P-series 1, 2 and 3, the ProMatic, ProMatic Akku or ProMatic P-series 1, 2 and 3, as well as the EcoMatic and the BerryMatic operator from 1 October 2005. This timing belt is automatically unsuitable for older SupraMatic S, SupraMatic T, EcoStar, EcoStar Plus and current Liftronic drives, as they use a different drive rail.
